A Christmas Story

Thursday, November 26, 2009

‘Tis the season for Christmas cheer..... and holiday plays. The holiday classic book, A Christmas Story, by Jean Shepherd, comes to life on stage on the Central Oregon coast November 27th through December 20th. The show tells the story of nine year old Ralphie, and his quest to get a Red Ryder BB gun under the tree for Christmas. His plea is met with the same response from his mother, his teacher, and even Santa Claus: "You'll shoot your eye out." The Parker family's Christmas is enhanced by the arrival of the wonderful 'prize' Mr. Parker wins from a puzzle competition, a beautiful leg lamp!

The show will be performed two weekends in Newport (November 27 - Dec 6), one weekend in Yachats (Dec. 12-13), and one weekend in Lincoln City (Dec 19-20). www.portholeplayers.org
