Looking for something fun to do on a rainy day? The Oregon Film Museum is now open in Astoria. The museum is housed in the old Clatsop County jail. It also happens to be the site of the famous opening jailbreak scene in the Goonies.
The new museum is dedicated to preserving the art and legacy of Oregon films and filmmaking. One of the highlights is an exhibit in the actual jail cell from "The Goonies," as well as mementos and props from other motion pictures made in Astoria and across Oregon. The Oregon Coast has been the site of many famous movies including the Goonies, Free Willy, Twilight and Kindergarten Cop. For museum hours and more information go to http://www.oregonfilmmuseum.org/
